10/25/22 Through 10/27/22
San Marcos, Texas
Leave No Victim Behind, the national conference series focused on serving victims of mass violence, is scheduled for October 25-27 at Texas State University in San Marcos. The 2022 conference theme is "The Brutal Plagues Devastating the Globe: Hate Crimes and Gun Violence ~ How Do We Respond? How Do We Heal? - Collaborative Strategies for Mass Violence Response and Recovery." CEUs are being offered to victim advocates.
Conference speakers include responders to recent mass violence incidents in New York (Buffalo, New York City Subway, and Tribeca Pedestrian Bridge), Texas (Uvalde and El Paso), California (Valley Transportation Authority and Gilroy Garlic Festival), and Pennsylvania (Tree of Life Synagogue). Panels comprised of victim services professionals, law enforcement, emergency management, behavioral health specialists, and more will present lessons learned, best practices, challenges, and recommendations. Keynote speakers include victims and survivors, public officials, and crisis responders.
This no-miss multidisciplinary conference will provide three days of intensive learning and opportunities for collaborating with partners in the field. In addition, attendees will receive a hot breakfast and lunch all three days and enjoy shuttle service between the conference hotels and the conference location at Texas State University.
